The original, classic cup of English Breakfast was made with black Keemun tea from Anhui province in China. Across many generations, plenty of different interpretations have been made. Our English Breakfast stays close to the classic. Made from fine quality Keemun, prized for its rich, slightly smoky flavor and perfectly 'on point' astringency. Balanced, very honeyed aroma. May be enjoyed plain or with a drop of milk. English Breakfast remains one of our most popular varieties.

Serve hot or cold, any time of day.

Keemun Tea

How to Brew?

Suggested ratio of tea preparation is one teaspoon of leaves per 8 ounces of water. However, light and voluminous teas will taste best with twice the leaves. Experiment and enjoy!

Use boiling water when preparing black, dark oolong and voluminous teas, and cooler (180F) water when steeping green, light oolong and white teas.

Do not steep your teas longer than recommended or it will turn bitter. The rule of thumb is 5 minutes for most teas, and only 3 minutes for green and light oolong.

Orders are shipped Monday - Friday. Orders placed before 2:00pm will ship same day.

Tasting Notes

The classic English Breakfast has an unmistakable woody, smoky aroma that is untampered with in our bag of pure Keemun tea. The hearty scent will make you think of a cozy log cabin with a roaring fireplace just outside.

When brewed properly, this tea presents a rich smoky, earthy flavor with a hint of bitterness. Its flavors ground you in the moment and make an excellent start to your day.

This rich tea is classically paired with a splash of milk, adding appreciated sweetness and creaminess to the experience. A small amount of honey will complete this drink, adding the perfect amount of sweetness without overpowering the tea’s unique taste.

English Breakfast is a time-tested start to any day, pairing well with typical breakfast foods known for being oily and savory, like bacon, bagel lox, and buttery biscuits. It also pairs well with chocolate, especially after adding milk.
